Why Shortcuts Won’t Heal You: Will you read this?
You know the feeling: fifteen seconds into a Reel or Short, you're already onto the next one. That's by design, and research suggests it's reshaping how we pay attention, retain information, and think things through.
A 2026 Psychology Today review found "clear negative outcomes from short-form content, including reduced academic performance and increased impulsivity". A separate 2026 systematic review in the Journal of Adolescence found that "short-video addiction is consistently linked to attention deficits, weakened executive control, and working memory problems", pointing to "reduced prefrontal activity paired with an amplified reward response" as the likely cause. Researchers describe it as a loop: more short-form content shrinks attention spans, which then craves even shorter content. It's not a character flaw — it's engineering.
Fragmented, algorithm-fed content trains the brain for novelty, not comprehension. And comprehension is exactly what's needed to learn something as layered as how your body heals.
Social Media Q&A Is Not the Same as Study
This matters enormously for anyone trying to learn Dr. Morse's approach to Regenerative Detoxification.
It has become common in our community, and in health spaces generally, for people to skip the foundational material and go straight to asking questions in comment sections, group chats, and social posts. One question. Then another. Then another. It feels like learning. It feels productive. But it isn't the same thing as actually studying a body of knowledge.
Here's the difference: a question-and-answer exchange gives you a fragment, stripped of the context that makes it meaningful. Herbs, glandular support, diet, fasting, elimination, emotional and mental factors, these all interconnect. Understanding why Dr. Morse recommends what he does, and how the pieces work together, requires sitting with the material long enough to build a real mental model. A scattered stream of one-off answers, absorbed in fifteen-second bursts between other distractions, can't build that model. It can only ever give you disconnected pieces.
And when the very medium you're learning from is training your brain toward shorter attention and weaker retention, the problem compounds. You end up with more questions, not fewer, and less ability to actually hold onto and apply the answers you get.
We've Made This as Easy as Possible — Please Use It
We know how much information is out there, and we know it can feel overwhelming to know where to start. That's exactly why we've put real effort into making Dr. Morse's teachings as accessible as possible:
Getting Started Guide — a clear, structured entry point for anyone new to this work.
Welcome video — a foundational overview to watch before diving into anything else.
Resources - Everything Dr. Morse, In One Place
DrMorses.TV — a huge, free library of in-depth lectures and teachings covering decades of Dr. Morse's work, available to everyone at no cost.
These resources exist so that nobody has to piece together their understanding from scattered comments and out-of-context clips. They're built to be gone through properly, in order, the way real learning actually happens.
A Word About Our Moderators
We also want to gently encourage the community, especially newer members, to actually go through these resources before turning to the group with questions. Our amazing group of moderators volunteer their time and knowledge freely, and they're glad to do it. But they cannot answer the same foundational questions, day after day, for every new person who hasn't yet watched the welcome video or opened the guide. That's not sustainable for anyone. Moderators burn out. And when they burn out and step away, the whole community loses the people who make it work.
Pointing someone toward the Getting Started Guide first isn't a brush-off, it's the most respectful thing we can do for both the person asking and the people answering.
Your Health Deserves More Than a Scroll
Your health is the most important thing you have. Regenerative Detoxification is not a quick trick or a single tip you can absorb between two Instagram Reels, it's a full framework for understanding the body, and it rewards the time you put into learning it properly. So take the time, make the time. Watch the welcome video. Work through the Getting Started Guide. Spend real hours in the DrMorses.TV library. Put down the short clips and pick up the whole picture. Your body, and your future self, will thank you for it.
